God Hates Fat

While I was reading the scriptures this morning, I noticed a humorous in Leviticus:

"It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood." ~Leviticus 3:19

Blood I understand, as it may contain all those fun bacteria that can usually kill you in your sleep (or when you're awake, which ever comes first).

But it seems humorous to me that this health tidbit given over four thousand years ago (give or take a few centuries) is currently being ignored by most fast food restaurants in the US today.

Perhaps this is the reason why health insurance is so expensive here?

Not too sure what the comment has to do with the topic, but whatever.

Regarding the insult, I find its rather typical of cowards to hide behind anonymous faces (or login screens), mainly because the lack the courage to back their own opinions.

Kinda pathetic, don't you think?

I wonder what makes you think it is OK to say that God hates anything. This comment that God hates fat is not wise, and can in fact be used to further weight bigotry. I am a fat person, and I find your words to be hurtful. Do you think spreading hurt will spread God's word? I have news for you - and for anybody out there reading this - God does NOT hate fat people. He does not hate fat. He is a God of love.

It amazes me how people can take things out of context.

No where did I say God hates fat people in the article, or even in the verse I cited.

The verse is merely a health tip, advising (strongly) that people do not eat the blood of animals (so I guess that means no medium rare for me) or eat the fat from animals, something most doctors would probably agree with me about.

If you are trying to turn this into a "blogger hates fat people" rant, you may need to double check yourself, as you are letting yourself get offended by something that most would understand as common sense advice.

Do you have a question, opinion or just stopping by to say hi?

You do not need to have a blogger account to post below, although you do have to solve the "I am human" puzzle.
